Back to Welton Rovers today who were playing Bishop Lydeard at home. Overall not a bad game some players that haven't been looking great recently started to show what they are capable of again which was really nice to see, a new look midfield with one of the new signings in the middle and a long serving player back out on the wing, and another new striker up front.
It was a shame that the referee tried his best to ruin the game with bad decisions and it didn't look like he knew the new laws, he seemed to be lost when it came to a dropped ball and as for playing the advantage he didn't give it a thought when he should have, but I have seen him before on several occasions, and he was just as bad then. I don't know why he does it as he doesn't even look like he enjoys it!
I don't quite understand why they play the long ball as Welton Rovers are a lot better playing passing football, especially as we have a small front line. The goal prooved that Welton Rovers are better at the passing game with a slick move involving only four players it was really nice to see .
Bishop Lydeard played well and had a few chances but being honest I think their keeper kept them in the game with a couple of good saves especially in the second half.
Well done Welton Rovers lets hope its the start of a change in their game, its just a shame that they have no game next week so they could keep improving.
