Christmas has come and gone now so there is only 362 days until the next one! It wasn't a bad Christmas except that the annual coalfield Classico match against Radstock was postponed due to the wet pitch! This was a bit disappointing for all as we all look forward to this Boxing Day game.
As the first team didn't have a game I decided to watch Welton Rovers Reserves play at West Clewes as they are flying at the moment, they welcomed struggling Portishead Town today so on paper Welton Rovers should win quite comfortably. It didn't pan out that way as Portishead Town gave as good as they got for most of the game but half way through the second half Welton Rovers took control and finished worthy winners beating them by 5 - 2.
Next week Welton Rovers Reserves face Middlezoy Rovers Reserves who are top of the Table by 2 points and the first team are away to Bishops Lydeard.
