Dull Performance for the FA Vase

So after a busy week for me that included 2 days in Portsmouth it was back to the football today and I hoped for a better game than last week at West Clewes where Welton Rovers welcomed Newton Abbot Spurs in the FA Vase.

The game started quietly with neither side taking control but Spurs were steadily taking control and soon enough they scored. Welton Rovers had nothing in return, in fact things were getting slowly worse for Welton Rovers when Spurs got another easy second and Spurs went on to win 4-0 and they deserved it as they were by far the better side.

As for Welton Rovers they looked disjointed and some players looked very lethargic in the way they go about their work. As per last week the passing was very poor in some parts of the pitch, and the ability of the same old players to keep the ball was very poor. I don't like to run anyone down and Im not going to start now as I believe the players that need to improve their game know who they are and so does the manager, but there is one thing I will say is if you put your name on a ball you need to get there and get that ball.

Welton Rovers are a small side and they need to learn to be positive in their passing and believe in their ability so the ball can do the work. Get your heads up you are so much better than the last two weeks. Looking forward to a better game next week, one positive for Welton Rovers was the appearance of the new signing from the bench in the midfield lets hope it continues and things can start looking up.
